El británico Simon Clark (1958) es una de las grandes jóvenes figuras de las letras inglesas. Ha escrito diversas novelas de terror, entre las que destacan Vampyrrhic (1998), Vampyrrhic Rites (2003), Nailed by the Hearth (1995), Darker (1996) y The Fall (1998). Con La noche de los trífidos, traducida a media docena de idiomas, obtuvo el British Fantasy Award 2002 a la mejor novela y el premio August Derleth 2002.
